Welcome to the home page for the Willamina Friends of the Library. Friends encourage reading and lifelong learning. We support the library as a community resource and provide funding for services and equipment beyond budgeted items. We are a non-profit organization managed by volunteers. You can become a part of something beneficial for your community by becoming a Friend today. By purchasing a membership or making a donation, you are directly helping people in your hometown. Also, any form of contribution or membership fee can be claimed as a tax deduction. Click here to find out how to become a valued member.
While the library receives funding from the government as well as the city, there is always a need for things that are not included in the regular budget. This is where the Friends of the Willamina Library funding becomes crucial. In the past the Friends have donated money for children's books and to support the summer reading program. We are currently working on having additional shelving built and installed, as well as matching funds for a grant proposal.
Our meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month at 6:00pm in the Willamina Public Library. They are open to the public and we encourage anyone who is interested in helping a wonderful cause to attend. This site is a way for our organization to let our community know who we are and what we do. We will post updates about coming events, ways you can help, membership benefits and our newsletter here.
Thank you for your interest in helping Friends to assist the Willamina Public Library. Your input is welcomed and encouraged. We hope to work together to benefit the library in as many ways as possible. Please check back often!
